Happy Halloween!

Here’s what we have been working on:

Math:  We finished up Unit 1.  There were a lot of word problems in Unit 1!  We are now moving into Unit 2 where we will be working on place value and making “quick draws” of hundreds, tens and ones.

Writing:  We continue to work on small moments.

Reading:  We are having a lot of fun going to our “super switch” groups.  Of course, our focus is on reading strategies.

Science:  We are finishing up with our study of Landforms.

Spelling:  Due to the Halloween Party and Early Release on Friday, we will NOT be getting new words next week nor will their be a test on Friday.

Halloween!  Yes, our party is on Monday, October 31.  I know there are some questions about costumes.  If their costume is the kind that they can wear all day – then go ahead.  However, if they need to change into something, or put some things on, students will be able to go to the bathroom ahead of time to get ready.  I hope this helps.

Our V.I.P. last week was Kaiden Chase!  His favorite color is blue.  His favorite food is spaghetti.  His favorite ice cream flavor is mint chocolate chip.  He has 4 people in his family.  They have a dog and a cat.  His favorite sport is soccer.  His favorite restaurant is Vitale’s. He likes to play soccer with his friends.  He likes to watch movies with his family.  If he was the President of the United States, his new rule would be:  Everybody has to play soccer!

JOKE OF THE DAY:   Why did the computer have so many dents?
